Hollins' One Month Birthday

Hollins is one month old (I'm only a few days late)!

She is the sweetest baby and is so laid back. She weighs around 9 pounds and can finally fit into her 0-3 month clothes without them falling off of her. She eats every 2-3 hours during the day but pretty much sleeps through the night. Thank you, Jesus! Hadley still doesn't sleep through the night...maybe one day! She is also starting to become more active during the day, the girl loves to sleep.

I love these sweet girls!

Hadley loves her little sister, she's always giving her hugs and kisses.

Adjusting to life with two under two has been much easier than I anticipated.

Hadley has definitely had her moments, just normal two year old tantrums, but her little personality is so great. She is hilarious! The worst is when she is pitching a fit and I am trying to discipline her but I can't help but laugh!

I am trying to soak up every minute with them before I go back to work at the end of October. Such sweet girls and I can't wait to see their relationship and them playing together and becoming best friends.

Weekend Wrap-Up

This weekend was a fun, low key weekend for our family. Saturday morning started off so nicely! Both girls slept until 8-we didn't know what to do with ourselves with so much sleep. Hollins is a sleep champ. She has slept through the night for several weeks. I feed her at 11:00 and she wakes up at 4:30 and 8:00. Hadley has NEVER been a good sleeper, she has woken up at 5:00 for most of her life. With her starting to sleep late and the new baby being a great sleeper-it has been heavenly. Eric and Hadley went to a birthday party and Hollins and I hung around the house! It was nice to have a few hours of calm and quiet! I also gave her her first bath in the bathtub. She is such a laid back baby-she didn't make a peep and I think fell asleep.

Saturday evening, Eric's parents kept the girls while we enjoyed dinner and drinks to celebrate Eric's birthday, which is today! I had two glasses of wine and after being pregnant and nursing, I was giddy and we laughed so hard talking about how funny the girls are!

Now we can all see why I need to be doing WW! :(

On Sunday we skipped church (Eric usually takes Hadley) and opted to take the girls on a walk in the new double stroller! We ended up playing at the park for a little while, which is Hadley's most favorite thing! She ended up taking a great nap and Eric and I were able to get things done around the house!

Today is Eric's 32nd birthday! Eric, the girls and I love you so much! I don't know what I would do without you. I thank God for you everyday! You are the best husband and father that we could ask for!

Learning Styles

I sure hope Hadley's future teachers believe in kinesthetic learning! Or she may get into quite a bit of trouble!

Hollins' Birthday

Our sweet Hollins has arrived!

She was born July 27 weighing 7 pounds and 5 ounces and measuring 19 inches long!

This is how everything came to be...

Last Tuesday I had a headache all day and around 4:30 I decided to check my blood pressure at home. It was a little high so I called the OB and the nurse suggested I go to the ER. I thought that was crazy so I drove myself to the urgent care just to be sure my machine was working and to see if they thought I should go to the hospital. Well, it was 213/115! The doctors and nurses freaked out, put me in an ambulance and sent me to the Maternity center. I was sent home at 11:00 and had to go back to my OB the next morning. Needless to say, my BP was still high and they sent me back to the hospital to be admitted. My younger sister was with me. I told Eric to go to work because in past experiences it's all a waiting game to be told what was going on. The doctor came in and said the C-section would be at 5:00 and Eric was running through the parking lot at 4:50!

Meeting for the first time!

Sweet sisters!

Neither of us had any complications and were sent home the following Saturday! What a different experience this time around! And Hadley loves her baby sister and loves to hep us take care of her. We are so thankful that God took care of our family during this time! Having a baby is a joyful experience, but to me, also one of the most nerveracking!
